  • 23 Apr 2025 TSCS 1.7 “Certified Fitness for Service (FFS) Practitioner - June 2025-1

A Fitness-for-Service (FFS) Practitioner is a professional who is qualified to evaluate the structural integrity and continued usability of equipment that may be damaged, degraded, or otherwise operating outside its original design parameters. This evaluation is based on established industry standards—most commonly API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, which is the key standard for Fitness-for-Service assessments.

    Key Responsibilities:

Damage Assessment: Identify and characterize flaws (e.g., corrosion, cracks).

FFS Evaluation: Apply API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 procedures to assess if the component can continue operating safely.

Determine Remaining Life: Estimate how long the equipment can operate before it needs repair or replacement.

Engineering Analysis: Use methods like stress analysis, fracture mechanics, and material science.

Documentation: Prepare detailed reports justifying fitness for continued service.

IDC bring you session of TSCS 1.7  “Certified Fitness for Service (FFS) Practitioner (API 579 / ASME FFS-1) - LEVEL 1 & 2”
    training on 30 June - 06 July 2025.

As this will be the ONLY SESSION for the year, we are expecting it to be a fully filled class so do not miss out such opportunity if you are interested! Otherwise, you may need to wait almost a year to have the class with us again!
